A campaign exploring how sound can evolve into a living visual system
Repeater is an ongoing live music series built around a strong sense of atmosphere, consistency and authorship. We developed the award-winning creative direction and visual approach for the project, shaping a flexible campaign framework that could evolve across multiple events while remaining recognisable. Rather than designing one-off promotional materials, the focus was on establishing a clear editorial and visual language that could be applied across posters, printed matter and digital communications. The work demonstrates how campaign direction and editorial thinking can build identity and momentum over time, creating recognition through consistency rather than repetition.
Repeater is a curated gig night in Sheffield, UK. Pre-gig promotion translates sound into a growing visual system of artefacts, identities, and narrative hooks. Posters, digital outputs, and limited-edition physical objects are designed to feel discovered rather than produced. Each event generates its own visual language, mutating across print, motion, and platform to form a coherent yet evolving design system.

Beyond promotion:Atmosphere and mythology
Beyond promotion, Repeater produces limited-edition collectable trading cards. These artefacts are deliberately folded, scuffed, and aged by hand, positioned somewhere between gig flyers, propaganda, and warped data sheets. Each card and poster becomes both documentation and story extract, reflecting the sound, atmosphere, and mythology surrounding each performance.

Revealing:A larger narrative
Each design rewards prolonged viewing, revealing secondary forms and hidden structures over time. When placed side by side, the works connect to form a larger narrative of fragmentation and reassembly, echoing both the event atmosphere and Repeater’s conceptual framework.

Summary:An active world
Rather than presenting a static identity, Repeater operates as an active world: a system that archives itself, fragments, and recombines. The project demonstrates how graphic design can function not only as communication, but as cultural production, building anticipation, extending atmosphere, and constructing a living narrative across physical and digital space.
